Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 June 2026
The short version: PicBop runs entirely on your iPhone. No cloud. No account. Your photos never leave your device, and we never see them.
Who this covers
This policy explains how the PicBop app ("PicBop", "we", "us") handles information when you use it on your iPhone. It applies to the app and this website.
Your photos stay on your device
PicBop is a local photo-cleaning utility. When you grant photo access, the app reads your library only on your device to show you photos and videos to review. We do not upload, copy, back up, or transmit your photos or their contents anywhere. There is no PicBop server that can see them.
- No cloud storage of your media.
- No account or sign-in.
- Nothing about the content of your photos is sent to us or to third parties.
Photo access & permissions
iOS asks your permission before PicBop can see any photos. You can grant full access or limited access (only the photos you pick), and you can change or revoke this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. With limited access, PicBop can only work with the photos you selected.
How deletion works
Swiping left only marks a photo for review — nothing is removed yet. You confirm a batch on the review screen before anything is deleted. When you confirm, PicBop asks iOS to move those items to your Photos app's Recently Deleted album, where you can recover them for a limited time. Space is only reclaimed once Recently Deleted is emptied. PicBop cannot permanently erase photos on your behalf.
What we do (and don't) collect
We don't require any personal information to use PicBop. We do not sell data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we never collect the contents of your photos.
- On-device stats (like swipes today or space cleared) are stored locally on your iPhone for your own dashboard.
- Anonymous usage analytics — to understand which features are used and to fix problems, PicBop sends anonymous, aggregated product-interaction events (for example, screens opened or sessions completed) to our analytics provider, PostHog, processed on servers in the European Union. This is not linked to your identity, is never used to track you across other apps or websites, and never includes your photos.
- Diagnostics, if you opt in through iOS, may share anonymous crash and performance data via Apple to help us fix bugs. This never includes your photos.
- Support emails you send us contain whatever you choose to write. Please don't attach private photos.
Purchases
PicBop Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple's App Store. We never see your card details. Apple processes the payment and shares only what's needed to deliver and restore your purchase, under Apple's own privacy terms. To verify and restore your purchase across your devices we use a purchase-management service, RevenueCat, which processes purchase and transaction data only — never your photos.
Children
PicBop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date above and, for meaningful changes, note it in the app. Continuing to use PicBop means you accept the current version.
